One of my good friends came round to craft with me last night. We’re going to meet up regularly for crafting sessions so we can actually use some of our stash. With every new catalogue comes new gorgeous “must-have’s” that we love straight away and buy as soon as we can, but sometimes they can sit lonely and unloved on our shelves for months or years on end. Well it stops here! If you love it, use it! Jen challenged me to create something with a stamp set that had never been mounted, and on top of that I was to use colours that I hadn’t used in the last 2 months. Wow, what a tough challenge! But here’s what I came up with:
These notelets use the Oh So Eclectic stamp set and coordinating dies. The colours I used were Mossy Meadow, Calypso Coral and So Saffron. In the end I was delighted with my cards, and I know I’ll be using this stamp set more. The flowers on the “You’re just lovely” card were given an extra shimmer with a coat of Wink of Stella, and I also used it on the heart on the “Oh, Hello Friend” card. The dies are the Eclectic Layers thinlits, and 3 of them are embossing dies that imprint the design rather than cutting out the shape.
When did you last look through your craft collection and pick up something unused? Many of us are better at buying crafting supplies than actually using them! So why don’t you try this challenge yourself? Find something you bought because you loved it, but you’ve never used it. Book out some time to craft, or even better invite a friend round to craft with you, and have a play. You’ll be surprised at how much fun it is!
Happy crafting!
