Holly Wreath card

To create the wreath, I used the long holly stamp from Curvy Christmas and stamped it 4 times in a circle. The stamp has a natural curve, so it was easy to place my Whisper White layer in the Stamparatus, position the stamp at the top of the card and stamp, then turn the card 90 degrees and stamp again, continuing round until I had done all 4 sides.  It would be very easy to bulk-stamp this card Glue the Whisper White layer onto the Cherry Cobbler layer. Fold the Shaded Spruce card in half to create the square [...]

Case challenge 18 – Winter sketch 2

Welcome to week 18 on the CASE challenge!  We're using another winter sketch as inspiration, this time from the wonderfully creative Windy Ellard, more info here.  While I just love her original card, I don't actually have the stamp set she used.  But CASEing isn't just copying, it's letting yourself be inspired by someone's creation so you can make something with your own stash.  So, still very much in Christmas mode, I thought I'd fall back on an oldie but goodie. Case challenge 17 – using up scraps

Week 17 on the CASE challenge is this lovely card by Carolyn King, more info here. This is the sort of card that can be made all year round, but I'm still in a Christmassy mood, so I decided to use up some scraps of Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper (or DSP) from the Autumn/Winter catalogue.  [EDIT: since making the card for this challenge, sadly this DSP is now sold out.  If you're still thinking of placing an order from the Autumn/Winter book, don't wait any longer as items are "while stocks last" and some items are now gone [...]

Case challenge 16 – embossed sampler

Week 16 of the CASE challenge already!  Today's card is a beautifully elegant card from Catherine Proctor, more info here. Her original card was so lovely, I really didn't want to change much about the design at all, just a slight tweak to the colours and folders used. I decided to go with cream and gold rather than white, so I started with a square card base in Thick Very Vanilla, measuring 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".  I cut a layer of Crumb Cake at 5 1/4" x 5 1/4", then cut my squares in standard Very Vanilla, measuring 1 [...]
