Top Tip – DSP with matching framelits

The gorgeous Plush Poinsettia speciality DSP is part of the Poinsettia Place suite, and it coordinates with the stamps and dies.  In fact, you can use three of the dies to cut shapes out of the DSP to use as accents on your projects.  The holly leaf, spray of berries, and large poinsettia flower can all be cut using the dies.  See the photo if you don't believe me!

Coloured Vellum technique

The Plush Vellum DSP is beautiful in white, but you can use Blends to add colour directly onto the plush surface. Do one colour at a time, and use a piece of scrap paper to cover areas you've already done before placing your hand on it, as the colour will stay wet for a short while (ask me how I know!!!).

September class by post – Velvet Poinsettia

This is a simple card to make, but the poinsettia is the star of the show.  I used a Garden Green card base and a strip of Poinsettia Place DSP cut in a v at one side.  I used the Poinsettia Dies to cut the flowers out of Red Velvet paper, and used the same dies to emboss the veins on to the petals.  (See the photo below for a closeup of the stunning detail you get with these dies.)  The flower was layered together with foam dimensionals and finished with a Beaded Pearl embellishment in the centre.  Loops [...]
