Top Tip – DSP with matching framelits

The gorgeous Plush Poinsettia speciality DSP is part of the Poinsettia Place suite, and it coordinates with the stamps and dies.  In fact, you can use three of the dies to cut shapes out of the DSP to use as accents on your projects.  The holly leaf, spray of berries, and large poinsettia flower can all be cut using the dies.  See the photo if you don't believe me!

Coloured Vellum technique

The Plush Vellum DSP is beautiful in white, but you can use Blends to add colour directly onto the plush surface. Do one colour at a time, and use a piece of scrap paper to cover areas you've already done before placing your hand on it, as the colour will stay wet for a short while (ask me how I know!!!).

Top Tip – Coloured dimensionals

The post earlier this week showed how I made the lovely velvet poinsettia card, but I've got an extra top tip for you today.  When I put the poinsettia together, I used foam dimensionals, but when I stuck each pad in place, I used a Real Red brush marker pen to colour the sides of the dimensionals.  This reduces any glimpses of white from the side when the flower is viewed.
