Hi there!  Today I’ve been making magnetic bookmarks to send out with the new Stampin’ Up! Autumn/Winter catalogue, and I thought I’d do a quick tutorial to show you just how easy it is to make this cute project.

Start by stamping the gingerbread man stamp in Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and punch out using the coordinating punch.

Then stamp the Santa image using Basic Black.  Colour in using brush markers, I used Real Red, Basic Black, Crushed Curry (for the detail on his belt) and Blushing Bride (for his face).

Punch out your Santa, and then punch out a glittery bow tie using red Glimmer Paper.

Next I punched out two cookie shapes using magnetic paper.

Using Snail adhesive, I stuck some Real Red Stitched Grosgrain ribbon onto the back of my Santa and gingerbread man.  The strip of ribbon was about 6″.Picture 42

I put a little more Snail on the top of the ribbon, then used Tombow glue to stick the magnetic shapes to the card, sandwiching the ribbon in between.Picture 43

Using the Fine Tip Glue pen, I applied a very small amount of glue to the white portions of Santa, like his beard, and the fur on his hat, coat and trousers.  I used Tombow to glue the red glittery bow tie onto the gingerbread man.Picture 44

I tipped a generous amount of white Mica Flakes onto Santa, and then used a piece of greaseproof paper (or baking parchment) to press them down firmly.  This gives a good coverage on your glue.Picture 45 Picture 46

Shake off the excess Mica flakes and tip back in your bag.  Don’t you love how gorgeously sparkly Santa is?!Picture 48

Then here we have the finished bookmark!Picture 47
