Can you believe we’re already on week 3 of our CASE challenge?  This week was my choice, and I was so wow’ed by Dawn Griffith’s beautifully blingy cards that I knew I had to try it for myself and try the glitter stained glass technique.

It was so much fun!  I chose the Eastern Beauty stamp set as it has nice open spaces for colouring, plus coordinating framelits for easy cutting round the shape.  I took a while to decide on colours, as I have so many favourite combinations with this set, but I wanted to choose colours that had matching Stampin’ Blends as well as ribbon.  Happily Stampin’ Up! excels with coordinating products, so my final choice of Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry worked beautifully with the gold and white/sparkle glimmer paper.

I stamped the image with Stazon onto a piece of window sheet, then used the Blends to colour on the reverse side.  I used the framelits to cut out the aperture and glued the window sheet behind using tear tape, then stuck a piece of glimmer paper at the back.  I love how the glitter gives an extra shimmer to the stained glass, and it is so easy to add colour with the Blends.  Everything dries very quickly too, so there was no problem with smudging.

Did you spot the sneak peek of a returning product?  Some of you may remember several years ago Stampin’ Up! sold shimmer paint, well I’m so delighted to announce that IT’S BACK!  In the Autumn/Winter catalogue which launches next week, there are 4 shades of shimmer paint, and I’ve used 2 of them here.  I used a dauber to sponge the paint onto the stamp then used the stamp as normal on the card.  I can’t link to them in my shop yet, you’ll just have to wait.  (Of course if you can’t wait, you could sign up as a SU! demonstrator and enjoy special early access to new products!  If you’d like to know more check out this link, or get in touch with any questions you have.)

If you joined in with this challenge, be sure to head to the Craft with Emma Facebook page and share your creations.

Your next stop now is Becki Ritson at Sunshine Stamping to see her take on this week’s challenge, follow this link here!

This time it is Becki’s choice of designer, and she’s picked the talented Sue Campfield and the gorgeous spotlight technique which you can find on her blog here: www.suestampfield.com  I can’t wait to see what we all come up with!

Come back next week to see the cards Becki and I have made using Sue’s cards as inspiration.  If you’d like to join in the challenge, please go to my Facebook page Craft with Emma where you can share your creations, I’d love to see what you come up with!

Happy stamping!
