CASE challenge 7 – DIY DSP

For week 7 on the CASE challenge, we've gone for an elegant and simple layout from the lovely Bonnie O'Neill, more info here. Her card uses DSP on one side, and coordinating stamped image on the other, with a sentiment in the middle. For my version, I've used the Love What You Do stamp set and the coordinating Share What You Love Speciality Designer Series Paper.  I've put a close-up of the DSP below to try and show you how much it shimmers and shines, but it's hard to capture in a photo!  You'll just have to trust me [...]

CASE challenge 6 – the invisible card

Week 6 on the CASE challenge is a fab idea of an invisible card that we saw done by Ann Clemmer, aka Stamper Dog, more info here.  While I love her cute snowman, I didn't want to start on Christmas cards just yet.  (Don't get me wrong, we've been making Christmas cards in my weekly classes since the start of September, but I haven't blogged on Christmas yet.  I think that may all change soon!)  Anyway, I found it an interesting challenge to see how I could CASE this card without simply copying it but coming up with my [...]

CASE challenge 5 – half-door fold

Week 5 on the CASE challenge is a fancy fold inspired by the amazing Terri Gaines, who is Stampin' Up!'s latest million sales achiever, check her out here.  I just love her design, but decided to do something a bit different with my version of the half-door fold. I started with a card base of Basic Black cardstock, and used some of the simply spectacular Broadway Bound Speciality DSP.  I've had this paper since the catalogue went live and I can't believe I haven't opened it before now!  It is truly gorgeous, and I just know I'll be using it [...]

CASE challenge 4 – spotlight technique

So here we are in week 4 of our CASE challenge, and today's project looks at the spotlight technique.  Simply put, it's where you highlight one element of the card, as if you're shining a spotlight on to it.  Becki had chosen the wonderfully talented Sue Campfield and her cards which show off this technique so wonderfully, and now it's our turn to CASE her! I chose the stamp set Lift me Up, which always reminds me of Bristol and the hot air balloon festival.  Most of the balloons were stamped in Pool Party, but I stamped an extra [...]
