Week 17 on the CASE challenge is this lovely card by Carolyn King, more info here. This is the sort of card that can be made all year round, but I’m still in a Christmassy mood, so I decided to use up some scraps of Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper (or DSP) from the Autumn/Winter catalogue. [EDIT: since making the card for this challenge, sadly this DSP is now sold out. If you’re still thinking of placing an order from the Autumn/Winter book, don’t wait any longer as items are “while stocks last” and some items are now gone forever. I’d hate you to miss out.]
I started with thick Whisper White cardstock for my base, then used a layer of either Merry Merlot or Tranquil Tide (two of the colours that coordinate with this DSP), then another layer of standard Whisper White. I played around with my scraps to find the best layout, and stuck down with Tombow. I used some Copper Trim wrapped around the top layer, then added a sentiment in coordinating colours using the Merry Christmas to All stamp set.
This card was so quick and easy to put together that I made two of them! If you’re anything like me, you have a huge pile of scraps that you can’t bear to throw away, so why not challenge yourself this week to dig out that box or folder and use up some little bits and pieces. I bet you’ll have as much fun as I did!
If you joined in with this challenge, be sure to head to the Craft with Emma Facebook page and share your creations.
If you’re following this challenge, you’ve hopefully joined me from Becki Ritson at Sunshine Stamping. Your next stop now is Sandra Roberts at Sandra’s Stamp & Craft Studio to see her take on this week’s challenge.
For next week, it was Sandra’s choice to pick some inspiration. She’s selected this lovely creation from Windy Ellard, find her blog here showing the project we’ll be CASE’ing next week if you want to join in.
Come back next week to see the cards Becki, Sandra and I have made using Windy’s card as inspiration.
Remember, we want YOU to join in too! If you’d like to join in the challenge, please go to my Facebook page Craft with Emma where you can share your creations, I’d love to see what you come up with!
Happy stamping!
