Day 1 of OnStage in Strasbourg, and it’s been a fabulous day! We travelled on Wednesday and arrived quite late, then had Thursday morning to take in the sights before the main session started late in the afternoon. We booked a boat trip in the morning, and when we turned up, it seemed as if many other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators had had the same idea – there must have been 30-40 of us! It was a lovely trip, and a great way to see all the main landmarks of this beautiful city. I would highly recommend it.
We had lunch in a delicious Indian restaurant, and had quite a large meal because we knew there wouldn’t be time later on in the day.
In the afternoon we headed to the Parc des Expositions, the conference centre that was right beside our hotel. There were queues to check in, with a special fast track queue for OnStage+ (one of the perks I enjoy with a title of Silver Elite or higher!) . We got our event swag (check out a separate post for those pics!) and headed in to the Main Stage area. There’s nothing quite like 1000 people (mostly women!) getting excited to see each other and the new SU! goodies.
This year I was a prize patrol volunteer, so I had a briefing before the event started to tell us the times to be at the side of the room ready to help the Stampin’ Up! staff (like the awesome Chris from Demo Support!) hand out prizes and other giveaways. On the first day the only task was an all-attendee giveaway – the new annual catalogue! It’s a more complicated undertaking than you might think, as there were multiple different nationalities at the event, and therefore different version of the catalogue in terms of language and pricing. But in a fairly short period of time, everyone had the new book, and therefore that occupied all of our attention!
After the main session there was an After Hours party. They’d suggested a white theme so many people were wearing white outfits, but I’m more of a colour girl myself so I went the other way with my rainbow Popsy! There was food on hand and a selection of mocktails, plus live music. We had a lovely evening before heading back to the hotel. We needed some rest before a full on Day 2!
