Week 10 is another fancy fold card, and this might be my favourite so far. I’ve always admired the pop up twist cards that I’ve seen others do, but had never tried them myself, so this week’s inspiration from the clever Carol Borgeson (read more here) was the perfect opportunity. I loved making this card so much, I made three! Once I got going, they were SO easy, but sure to get a WOW from the recipient! I’ll do a video to show you just how simple they are once you know how.
I started with Whisper White card for the mechanism inside. I have more friends expecting babies any day, so I reached for the Little Twinkle stamp set and the matching Designer Series Paper. The colours of card are Petal Pink, Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam, and I used the Sparkle glimmer paper for the highlights. I’ll put full measurements in a separate post with the video.
Once the inside mechanism is assembled, the rest of the card just needs to be decorated. I stamped the sentiment from Little Twinkle, then layered onto shapes from Stitched Labels framelits. The DSP is the main star of the show, but inside the card I cut out the word BABY using the Large Letters framelits.
All in all, these pop up twist cards were far easier to make than I expected, and look amazing when finished. They even fold really flat so they are perfect for posting. I hope you give this fancy fold a try!
