Renovations have started, and the first thing to go was the green carpet, which had served us well since we moved in 6 years ago.  My plan had been to put down underfloor heating, but when the carpet was lifted, we discovered this gorgeous hardwood floor, and of course my plans changed.  One of the things we love about this house is it’s original features and the story they tell, and I knew this floor had to be brought back to life.  You’ll see from the photos that it’s been stained around a carpet or rug previously, and there were quite a few damaged boards, but our wonderful builder assured me he could make it beautiful again.

Next step is to lift all the boards, saving as many as possible, and get them sanded back to beauty.  Come back to see how it went!
